Major Daljit Singh Narang was commanding a squadron of cavalry which was attacked by the enemy battalions. He skilfully and boldly manoeuvred his squadron and destroyed enemy tanks. With utter disregard to his personal safety he directed the fire of his squadron, standing on the turret of his tank. His courage and fearlessness decimated the enemy squadron of tanks. Throughout this action Major D S Narang displayed outstanding leadership and determination and was posthumously awarded #MahavirChakra #BraveSonOfIndia

Indian Naval Ship Vikramaditiya, largest ship in #IndianNavy and the only aircraft carrier along with Number 6 Squadron of the Indian Air Force was formally affiliated to The Bihar Regiment . The glittering affiliation ceremony was held onboard INS Vikramaditiya. Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh, Colonel of The Bihar Regiment graced the event as Guest of Honour. Affiliation will foster espirit-de-corps and friendship. The affiliation motto is aptly worded as Victory through Jointness. Event saw participation by host of senior officers from all the Three Services .

On 16 January 1948, Major AK Ramaswamy, while commanding Company of Para Battalion at Naushera was tasked to reinforce the forward Company which was under enemy fire. He immediately provided much needed assistance which relieved the pressure on the Company. However he got wounded but kept fighting. Major Ramaswamy disregarding his personal safety evacuated many wounded. For display of the gallant act in the face of enemy Major AK Ramaswamy was posthumously awarded #MahavirChakra #ThisDayThatYear #BravesonOfIndia
